Job Description

Title: Custodial Worker

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write, follow oral and written instructions.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• No formal education required; equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Reports To:

Custodial Supervisor

Performance Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize floors, walls, furniture, restrooms, and other areas to meet sanitary standards.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and scrubbers.
• Remove refuse and snow, move furniture, and report repairs needed.
• Perform additional custodial tasks as assigned.

Additional Information

• Functions include cleaning bathrooms, floors, walls, windows, and removing snow.
• May assist in training new custodians.
• Work involves using chemicals and working from ladders; wet floors are common.
• Performance is evaluated through inspections and schedule reviews.
