Substitute Custodian

Casual custodial employees may not exceed 28 hours of work per week. The substitute custodian must call the office daily for assignments but is not guaranteed work. Casual positions are for a nine (9) month school period, from August until June 1st.

NOTE: All Plant Department custodial positions are physically demanding and require the ability to lift up to 100 lbs., work from ladders/scaffolding, and work in confined areas with frequent stretching, twisting, and bending. Must be visually able to inspect areas needing to be cleaned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledgeable in all phases of custodial work.
• Knowledgeable in proper mixing techniques for chemicals.
• Knowledgeable in proper techniques for floor and carpet care.
• Knowledge in use of custodial equipment, power mowers, buffers, and snow blowers.
• Able to perform grass cutting, trimming, weed eating, etc.
• Available for and able to perform snow removal as required.
• Excellent attendance and work record.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Ability to work with staff, students, and the public.
• Must have reliable transportation.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or its Equivalent
