Overview


This Custodian position is a team member of the Wisconsin Union - Facilities Custodian Team. Duties include routine maintenance and cleaning, trash removal and upkeep of the Memorial Union Terrace and other duties as needed. Work is performed under the guidance of a Custodial Services Supervisor.


- Position works at UW Madison - Memorial Union (800 Langdon Street, Madison, WI 53706)


- Works both outdoors and indoors at Memorial Union.


- Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 6:30am-3pm.


- This position is scheduled to end on 11/1/2025. May be extended based on business needs.



Key Job Responsibilities



  • Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice

  • Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities

  • Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed

  • Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs

  • Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables
