Pay: Base pay range $18.16/hr - $18.52/hr. Probation pay $18.16/hr; Union pay rate $18.52/hr.

Responsibilities

  • Perform custodial and general maintenance tasks to keep assigned areas clean, orderly, safe, and secure, following established standards.
  • Use various power-driven cleaning machines and materials; perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Daily custodial duties: sweep and clean sidewalks, vacuum, mop, empty trash, sanitize restrooms, disinfect surfaces, clean floors and windows, move equipment, and schedule major cleaning around events.
  • Inventory custodial supplies; respond to maintenance requests; set up and tear down tables and chairs for events; replace light bulbs and perform minor electrical fixes as needed.
  • Perform minor facility painting and basic grounds maintenance (weeding, litter removal, snow removal, etc.).
  • Submit work orders as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English and to provide directions in English.
  • Ability to use tools and perform custodial maintenance according to standards.
  • Knowledge of custodial maintenance standards and techniques.

Additional Requirements

  • Screening and compliance: post-offer medical examination, safety guidelines compliance, background check, valid New Mexico driver’s license through employment.

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily indoors on flat surfaces; some outdoor work is possible.
  • Temperature-controlled indoor environment; outdoor exposure to weather as applicable.
  • May require use of ladders, stairs, and various cleaning equipment; occasional teamwork or independent work.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, and other typical facility risks; shift work may be required.

Equipment, Tools, and Materials

  • Buffer, stripper, vacuum cleaner, duster, mop, bucket, wringer, dust mop, brooms, ladders, dolly, cleaning supply cart; cleaning solvents and deodorizers; may operate County vehicle.
