The position is needed to fulfill the 24/7 mission requirements at the 101st Air Refueling Wing in Bangor, Maine. This work involves custodial duties on the installation, working under limited supervision with responsibilities including cleaning and minor maintenance in Maine Air National Guard Base buildings. Work is performed under general supervision.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in janitorial work
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to make minor repairs to cleaning equipment
- Ability to climb ladders for tasks like changing light bulbs and cleaning ventilation ducts
- Sufficient physical strength for manual tasks related to building care and cleaning
- Ability to operate or be trained to operate military computer systems for work data input
Minimum qualifications:
Experience and training demonstrating basic knowledge of building and grounds maintenance and repair.
Preference will be given to applicants who:
Can follow instructions, operate custodial equipment, adhere to safety rules, adapt to diverse work assignments, work harmoniously in a team, climb ladders, lift 40 lbs unassisted, and follow a work schedule. Ability to pass a 10-year security background check for access to computer systems and security badges.
