Position Overview

The Salvation Army, an international movement and evangelical part of the Christian Church, is motivated by the love of God and dedicated to meeting human needs in His name without discrimination. The Residence Manager is responsible for managing the respective men’s or women’s residence facility, promoting a positive environment, and supervising staff and beneficiaries under the guidance of the Program Administrator.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience or training in supervising beneficiaries; recovery program involvement is a plus.
• Valid 'Class B' Driver's License (California) with acceptable driving record; ability to obtain within 45 days.
• Integrity, resourcefulness, self-motivation, and support for The Salvation Army’s mission.
• If chemically dependent, at least one year free of chemical dependency.

Essential Job Duties

• Facility management including maintenance, repairs, and supplies procurement.
• Supervision of residence staff and beneficiaries, including orientation, room assignments, and activity supervision.
• Monitoring beneficiary activities, administering drug tests, providing crisis counseling, and facilitating recreational activities.
• Ensuring safety protocols, conducting fire drills, maintaining discipline, and managing security procedures.
• Coordinating special events and transportation, maintaining records, and ensuring confidentiality.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 30 lbs, operating a vehicle, and routine physical activity.
