Job Description

Job Title: Forklift Operator

Department: Production

Report Line: Reports to Plant Supervisor

Location: Conroe, Texas

Overview:

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Forklift Operator with experience in forklift operations. This position primarily involves manual work (80%) with forklift operations constituting the remaining 20%. Responsibilities include efficiently and safely moving packages and materials around NW LLC facilities, identifying damages, transporting raw materials, and maintaining a safe and orderly environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Locate and move products to/from storage areas for shipment.
• Identify damages and report quality deficiencies.
• Transport raw materials to production workstations.
• Tie or strap down material.
• May unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places.
• Assist production helpers or machine operators as needed.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities.
• Communicates with Supervisor, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve material needs issues.
• Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
• Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.
• May perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  
  

Requirements and Skills:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Forklift Operator.
• Commitment to safety and efficiency.
• Must be able to operate a forklift and lifting devices for movement of parts.
• Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
• Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  
  

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Completion of forklift training and certification is desired.
  
  

Salary: Based on experience
