$19.00/hr - $19.00/hr

Overview

Operator will be certified and driving a forklift to support production. They will be responsible for staging, putting up, pickup and delivery of material to production, ambient and cold rooms. Due to fast pace of role, operator must be task oriented to ensure material is delivered on time and not stopping production. The operator is expected to read all pallets to ensure each pallet moved is transported to the right location at the right time. Each operator will go through forklift training, shop floor environmental awareness training, along with company SOPs and job instructions for each task in supporting productions and inventory adjustments.

Essential functions

  • Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Inventory control of newly received components/materials to include placing in locations
  • Material requisitions and staging area replenishment
  • Physical and system transfers of semi-finished and finished product
  • Pull samples upon request
  • Physical inventory to include cycle counts and annual inventory counts
  • Look-up and reorder of inventory and plant supplies
  • Preparation and shipping of finished product
  • Load/unload trailers
  • System knowledge in Prism/AS400/SAP. Utilization of system transactions to transfer material and inventory adjustments
  • Daily inspections of the forklifts, warehouse, cold rooms, and freezer
  • Maintain up to date training status

Physical requirements

  • Moves equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions
  • Routinely operates and inspects manufacturing equipment using hands
  • Strap and unstrap pallets using hands
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting and standing) 50% of the time
  • May require corrected vision to 20/25 and may require color vision
  • Handles transport of hazardous materials
  • Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments
  • Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
  • Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks
  • Does not require a valid driver’s license
