Forklift Operator Job at Welch Packaging Group in Lebanon

Position: Forklift and Warehouse Operator

• Operate clamp truck and forklift equipment according to company standards.
• Receive stock and raw materials following company procedures.
• Unload and load trucks as necessary.
• Operate Conveyor Line as needed.
• Assist shipping personnel and maintain warehouse organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work safely, report unsafe conditions or near misses immediately to your supervisor.
• Report any property damage occurring during your shift, regardless of severity.
• Maintain a clean work area, keep docks and aisles tidy, and empty trash as required.
• Ensure all equipment lines are full; machines should not wait on product.
• Read and understand the production schedule; keep supervisor informed of issues.
• Handle bales efficiently, minimizing forklift damage.
• Operate and maintain forklift equipment, perform daily inspections per OSHA requirements.
• Communicate relevant information to the next shift before leaving.
• Follow all Lockout/Tagout procedures during loading and unloading.
• Process, tag, and store incoming raw materials.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing products and supplies, document defects.
• Inventory and organize finished products.
• Complete all required documentation, e.g., load verification forms.
• Shred waste materials, weigh, and identify loads properly.
• Operate plant PCs and systems to complete tasks.
• Enter maintenance work requests for safety and scheduled tasks.
• Rework spilled or unsafe pallets or bales of finished goods.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with other forklift drivers.
• Follow plant procedures for tracking waste bales and quarantined products.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Candidates must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English for safety and operational efficiency, including understanding safety instructions, operating procedures, and signage.
