Welding Quality Supervisor

$80,000 to $90,000 Based on Experience

PrideStaff is conducting a search for our West Cleveland client who is hiring an experienced Welding Supervisor who will be responsible for ensuring quality control for welding and fabrication. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and ensure the highest standards of welding operations while fostering a culture of safety and quality. You will lead a team of skilled welders by inspecting and documenting the quality of all welding and fabrication operations. The Welding Quality Supervisor will ensure that all projects meet industry specifications and client expectations and conform to AISC Bridge Certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily welding operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and best practices
  • Prepare documentation for audit compliance with AISC bridge standards
  • Maintain the quality manual and implement training programs for welding staff, focusing on skill enhancement and safety protocols
  • Conduct regular inspections of welding work to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to review project specifications and determine welding requirements
  • Lead root cause analysis for quality control issues and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate records of welding operations and prepare reports for management
  • Foster a positive team environment that encourages communication and collaboration among team members

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
  • 5+ years of experience in welding supervision or a related role within a manufacturing or construction environment
  • In-depth knowledge of welding techniques, processes, and industry standards (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) with various metals
  • Experience with AISC Quality Certification Program
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance in welding operations
  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing teams and driving performance improvements
Preferred:
  • Certifications in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME) are highly desirable
  • Experience with advanced welding technologies and automated systems
  • Familiarity with ISO and other quality management systems
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
  • Experience with welding inspection tools and quality assurance methodologies
  • Knowledge of welding software for process control and documentation
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
