Responsibilities

  • Standardizes work in the fabrication area to increase throughput. Specific focus on two robotic welding cells.
  • Trains production personnel to the standardized work.
  • Identifies and executes meaningful improvement opportunities and promptly seeks tasks, while requiring minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoots medium to high complexity problems through analyzing information and evaluating results to propose and choose the best immediate and long term solutions.
  • Uses Six Sigma training and tools where applicable to find solutions.
  • Observes and analyzes processes to identify and implement waste and time saving opportunities.
  • Derives work instructions or setup sheets to effectively communicate required procedure to the operations team. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
  • Manages and prioritizes schedule and workload for on-time delivery of tasks and projects.
  • Conducts oneself in a professional manner, treating all individuals with respect and a positive attitude.
  • All positions are responsible for complying with Federal, State, and local standards and regulations and adhering to company safety policies and workplace behavior directives.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or technical school with at least two years’ hands-on experience with welding and robotic welders; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in setting up, operating and troubleshooting welding cells.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication principles.
  • Strong and effective communicator, verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient with blueprint reading and basic metrology (calipers, micrometers, indicators, depth micrometers, etc.).
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, geometry and trigonometry; apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands: Frequent movement including sitting, standing, walking, using hands; may lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: Exposure to fumes, moving mechanical parts, heat; moderate to loud noise. PPE required on the production floor.
