Are you an experienced NDT technician or inspector with a passion for quality and precision in the safety and integrity of steel, concrete and masonry on construction projects? S&ME is looking for an experienced NDT Technician, preferably with a CWI certification but not required, to join our team in Wilmington, North Carolina.
About The Role
As an NDT/NDE Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) in Wilmington, North Carolina, you\'ll play a vital role in conducting a variety of NDT methods to determine the structural safety and integrity of our most complex construction projects. The role is ideal for experienced inspectors ready to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
- Inspection and Non-Destructive Testing: Conduct inspections and deploy non-destructive testing methods to uphold impeccable quality standards. A significant portion of field inspection time is spent performing non-destructive testing (NDT) duties such as ultrasonic inspection (UT) of welds and/or magnetic particle testing (MT) of welds.
- Project Testing Assignments: Juggle testing assignments across projects, contributing to the success of each endeavor.
- Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Maintain testing equipment in working order and calibration; can include managing field and laboratory equipment inventories, maintaining formal calibration records, and participating in quality systems audits.
- Report Creation: Craft detailed reports to communicate findings effectively.
About You
- You have a High School Diploma/GED
- You have at least 3 years of conducting NDT testing on steel, concrete and/or masonry experience or an associate degree
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
- Achievement of ASNT Level II certification per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A in at least one method
- Safety, DDC, NDT, and/or Radiation Training
- Experience in the use of fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems
Are You Willing and Able to
With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Work outdoor, hands-on in all weather conditions
- Climb heights over 200 feet
- Lift and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment
- Safely handle field tools and maneuver equipment on active construction sites
- Travel out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary
- Work outside of normal business hours when necessary
