Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise fabrication and welding activities for heavy steel and engineering products.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
- Ensure proper execution of forging, casting, machining, and sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Select appropriate welding techniques, consumables, and standards (ASME, AWS, ISO, etc.).
- Monitor production workflow to achieve quality, safety, and delivery targets.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and procurement teams for product development and improvements.
- Ensure compliance with standard hardware specifications (fasteners, bolts, nuts, rivets, etc.).
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement process improvements.
- Maintain adherence to safety protocols and quality certifications (ISO 9001, ASME, etc.).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgical Engineering.
- 3–10 years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, and machining operations.
- Strong knowledge of forging, casting, machining, and sheet metal processes.
- Hands-on experience with welding standards and inspection techniques (NDT, WPS, PQR).
- Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, etc.).
- Strong understanding of industrial standards, tolerances, and hardware specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Welding Engineering (CWI, CSWIP, or equivalent).
- Experience in heavy engineering / pressure vessels / structural fabrication industry.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
