Certified Welding Inspector - CWI (Midwest USA) MN, WI role at Pennoni. Pennoni is an ENR Top 500 consulting engineering firm. Pennoni is currently seeking full-time and part-time AWS Certified Welding Inspectors for QA inspection at fabrication shops producing bridge and highway structures for transportation agencies in the Midwest.

Responsibilities

• Inspection of welding, steel fabrication, coatings, expansion joints, bridge bearings, sign structures, bridge beams, drainage structures, and other material.
• Monitoring work for compliance with approved shop drawings, standards, and specifications.
• Communicating with fabricators, clients, and engineers.
• Production of daily written shop reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work well independently and with others
• Reliable transportation

Preferred Attributes

• Experience performing QA/QC during steel bridge or highway structure fabrication is a plus.
• Non-Destructive Testing certifications (e.g.: UT, RT, MT, PT) is a plus.
• AWS D1.1/D1.5 experience is a plus.
• Coating inspection experience is a plus.
