Jobs are located at various locations in the Metroplex

Responsibilities

• Work as a Sports Official in the YMCA sports department.
• Uphold the Sports Official Code of Conduct and enforce the rules of play.
• Be the sole representative at many YMCA games and take and maintain control of the games at all times.
• Call the game as fairly as possible and make calls quickly and with the best of your ability.
• Demonstrate a general working knowledge of the sport to be officiated; the officiating skill level will be determined by YMCA sports staff.

Days & Hours

Saturdays and some weeknights. The schedule varies depending on the number of leagues and teams.

Requirements

• Incumbent should be able to communicate with players, coaches and parents effectively.
• Candidate should be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Ideal candidate must be energetic, enthusiastic and have the motivation to share that energy with all the sports participants.
• Candidate should have strong human relations skills.
• Incumbent must possess a strong understanding of the YMCA and its mission as well as have a strong desire to deliver a quality program to children and families in the community.
• Must attend required trainings including First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse Awareness, and other trainings as outlined by the YMCA.
