Direct and coordinate all activities relating to Sports Information. Essential Functions Meet the established guidelines of the University, Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) and NAIA National Office for sports information. Provide consistent, updated sports information on each sports team for the Northwest University community, conference and local news media. Provide statistics of all home athletic events to opposing school’s SID and the CCC head statistician at the conclusion of each event. Maintain statistics, school records and other related data. Attend all home athletics events, coordinate statistical procedures, and game management duties. This includes training all student statisticians and hiring, training, and supervising all student game management workers. Provide team rosters and media information to opposing team SIDs. Maintain bulletin boards in the Pavilion for each athletic team. Facilitate media set-up audio equipment for play-by-play broadcasts and live video streaming. Set up laptop computers and printer for all home athletic events. Assist with nominations, voting and promotions of student/athlete awards for the CCC and the NAIA. Run social media for the athletic department. Help with Eagles giving week. Education/Experience/Skills Mandatory Baccalaureate degree in athletically oriented field or related field and/or equivalent experience. One to two years of experience in coaching and/or directing athletic programs, or the equivalent. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Strong interpersonal, and written and verbal presentation skills. Possess current, recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and Blood borne pathogens training, or committed to becoming so certified within three months of employment. Demonstrate commitment to maintaining a safe work environment free of harassment, violence, and unlawful discrimination. Ability to communicate effectively, get along well with co-workers, and deal effectively and professionally with colleagues. Basic knowledge of sports (soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball and track & field) and related statistics. Basic knowledge of MS Office software such as Word and Excel. Preferred Masters in athletically oriented field or related field and/or equivalent experience. Three to five years of experience in coaching and/or directing athletic programs, or the equivalent. Knowledge statistical software programs such as Stat Crew and Dak Stats. Knowledge of photography and related software such as Adobe Photoshop. Knowledge and ability to use graphics software programs such as Adobe InDesign, Publisher, Adobe Illustrator, etc. Proven quality organizational and leadership skills. Proven interpersonal, and written and verbal presentation skills. Work is performed both indoors in a normal office setting and outdoors during athletic events. Travel, including overnight travel, may be required. Position works with some confidential information. Requires work in outdoor weather conditions, including wet, extreme cold, and extreme heat. Frequently required to be in front of a computer screen for long periods of time. Will be exposed to loud noise levels. Physical Demands The functions are usually performed while standing, but may involve some amount of time sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting (max. of 40 lbs.), walking, carrying, reaching, stretching, climbing, perform repetitive motions of the hands or wrists and other movements. The abilities of seeing, hearing and speaking are also required. Compensation Based on education and experience, the position has a hiring range of $20.00/hour to $21.50/hour plus excellent benefits.
