Overview
Sugar Mill Country Club is seeking an energetic, skilled, and personable Racquet Sports & Activity Center Professional to lead Sugar Mill CC’s tennis and pickleball programs while overseeing the Activity Center, which includes the gym, exercise studio, and pool facilities. This individual will be responsible for developing engaging programs, providing high-quality instruction, ensuring member satisfaction, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment across all areas of responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Racquet Sports (Tennis & Pickleball): Organize, plan, and teach private lessons, clinics, and group programs for players of all ages and skill levels.
- Junior Programs: Develop and manage junior programs to encourage youth participation and growth.
- Events & Tournaments: Organize social events, mixers, and competitive tournaments that foster member engagement.
- Facilities & Scheduling: Oversee court maintenance, equipment, and facility scheduling to ensure availability and quality conditions. Where necessary help with preparation and maintenance of the courts.
- Member Service: Provide excellent customer service and build strong relationships with members to promote active participation.
- Activity Center (Gym, Exercise Studio, Pool): Supervise daily operations of the fitness center, exercise studio, and pool facilities.
- Programs: Create and schedule group exercise classes, wellness programs, and seasonal aquatic activities.
- Staffing: Recruit, train, and schedule instructors, lifeguards, and support staff as needed.
- Safety & Maintenance: Ensure compliance with safety standards, pool regulations, and proper equipment upkeep.
- Wellness: Develop and promote programs that encourage health, fitness, and wellness for all ages.
- Administrative & Leadership Duties: Prepare and manage annual budgets for racquet sports and the Activity Center.
- Operations: Coordinate facility scheduling, member communications, and event promotion.
- Program Evaluation: Track program participation and continuously evaluate offerings for improvement.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with club management, committees, and staff to enhance member experience.
- Engagement: Serve as the face of racquet sports and fitness activities, creating a positive and inclusive culture.
Qualifications
- USPTA, PTR, or PPR certification (or equivalent) preferred for tennis and pickleball instruction.
- Proven experience teaching and managing racquet sports programs at a club or similar environment.
- CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification (or ability to obtain) required.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to engage members of all ages, foster community spirit, and grow participation.
- Experience managing fitness and aquatics programs a plus.
