Youth Sports Coach

Job Description

POSITION: Youth Sports Coach

TERM: One-year position for the 2025-2026 school year with the possibility to advance to Youth Sports Director in 2026-2027

WAGE: $1,000 Stipend per sport ($1,000 for Volleyball and $1,000 for Basketball) for 2025-26 school year, negotiated for future school years.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma
• Previous coaching experience preferred
• A commitment to provide student athletes with a positive sports experience
• Must have positive energy and a love of working with students that exhibits a variety of skills and behaviors
• Availability to work after school hours and evenings
• Strong organizational skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for teaching fundamental skills in volleyball and basketball for Grades 1-6
• Responsible for organizing and leading after-school practices 2 times a week, September-February
• Work in collaboration with the Youth Director and High School Coaches
• Will be available during Greater Kalamazoo Youth League games
• Participate in Youth Volleyball and Basketball nights at the High School games
• Effectively communicate with parents
