Youth Sports Coach
Job Description
POSITION: Youth Sports Coach
TERM: One-year position for the 2025-2026 school year with the possibility to advance to Youth Sports Director in 2026-2027
WAGE: $1,000 Stipend per sport ($1,000 for Volleyball and $1,000 for Basketball) for 2025-26 school year, negotiated for future school years.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma
- Previous coaching experience preferred
- A commitment to provide student athletes with a positive sports experience
- Must have positive energy and a love of working with students that exhibits a variety of skills and behaviors
- Availability to work after school hours and evenings
- Strong organizational skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for teaching fundamental skills in volleyball and basketball for Grades 1-6
- Responsible for organizing and leading after-school practices 2 times a week, September-February
- Work in collaboration with the Youth Director and High School Coaches
- Will be available during Greater Kalamazoo Youth League games
- Participate in Youth Volleyball and Basketball nights at the High School games
- Effectively communicate with parents
