Job Description
The City of Saratoga Springs currently has openings for Adult Sports Officials; these are part-timepositions with the Saratoga Springs Recreation Department of approximately five to ten hours perweek. This is a continuous recruitment and collected applications will be reviewed when moreemployees are needed for a program. These positions are responsible to act as the official at adultsports, games, or events.Experience officiating one or more of the following preferred: basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball.
These positions are under the supervision of the Recreation Director and the Recreation SiteSupervisors. The Recreation Department will try to provide the successful applicant with opportunities to grow and progress within the department.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Officiate adult sports games
- Know the rules to the game officiating
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Must be 18 years old or older, general sport knowledge gained by playing, officiating or coaching preferred, training will be provided.
Certifications Required:
• None
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- The sport being officiated
- The rules of the game being officiated
Ability to:
- Talk to adults/coaches
- Manage time
- Multi task

- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet while in the office and moderately loud when in the field.

- The employee may be required to work in outside weather conditions, in wet and/or humid conditions.

Salary Range:
The full salary range is as follows, please note hiring will normally occur at the Minimum of the range:

Step 0-$23.00 Step 5-$28.00
Step 1-$24.00 Step 6-$29.00
Step 2-$25.00 Step 7-$30.00
Step 3-$26.00 Step 8-$31.00
Step 4-$27.00 Step 9-$32.00

Schedule and Notices:
These positions typically work five to ten hours weekly as scheduled by the Recreation Director or Recreation Coordinator. Monday - Saturday, typically evenings and Saturdays
