Director of Racquet Sports role at W3Global. Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development: Design, implement, and promote a diverse range of racquet sports programs, including clinics, tournaments, leagues, and social events; collaborate with club management to ensure programs align with member interests and club objectives.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with other departments on the annual TAGS program and other racquet-sports-related social events.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise racquet sports staff, conduct regular staff meetings, set goals, provide training, and maintain high service standards.
  • Member Engagement: Foster a welcoming environment for all members and guests; gather feedback and adapt offerings to meet needs.
  • Facility Management: Oversee maintenance and upkeep of racquet facilities, including courts and equipment, ensuring safety and optimal playing conditions; coordinate repairs and upgrades with maintenance staff.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage the budget for racquet sports programs and analyze performance to optimize offerings.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator to create promotional materials and use social media to raise visibility and engagement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and participate in workshops or conferences to further professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Recreation, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in racquet sports management or coaching with a proven track record in program development and member engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of tennis, pickleball, and other racquet sports, including rules, techniques, and coaching methods.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate member schedules and events.
  • Certification from a recognized racquet sports organization (e.g., PTR, USPTA) is preferred.

Physical Demand and Work Environment

Ability to instruct or coach while managing varying levels of swing speed; sufficient stamina to work outdoors in hot and humid conditions for several hours.
