Quail West Golf & Country Club, located in Naples, Florida, is seeking an energetic and experienced Director of Court Sports to join our leadership team and help elevate our tennis, pickle-ball, and bocce programs. Position Summary

The Director of Court Sports (DoCS) will lead and manage his/her department to ensure a superb member experience and an attractive, well-maintained facility. He/she is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the racquet facilities, bocce program and the Racquets Pavilion. The DoCS is expected to lead the professional staff and supporting team, as well as provide information, recommendations, and leadership to the Court Sports Committee. Ongoing, well-articulated and candid discourse is expected and required with the COO and the Court Sports Committee. The DoCS is expected to routinely play/teach tennis and pickle-ball and regularly collaborate with the maintenance staff to assess court conditions in order to help ensure that they are consistently excellent. Continuing education and staying at the forefront of research and technology are necessary for success. The DoCS will provide creative leadership and foster a culture of continuing education and development of future court sports professionals. The DoCS must consistently demonstrate sincere and engaged visibility with members and staff, a genuine love of sport and the relentless pursuit of excellence.

Reporting Structure

Reports to the Chief Operating Officer / General Manager and liaises with the Court Sports Committee Chair. Direct reports include: Tennis Pros and Courts Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive court sports program, including tennis, pickle-ball, and bocce to engage the membership and grow participation.
  • Develop innovative programming, clinics, leagues, tournaments, and social events to engage players of all ages and skill levels.
  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise court sports staff while fostering a positive, collaborative work environment focused on member satisfaction.
  • Attend and lead all Court Sport Committee meetings and provide information, recommendations, and leadership in collaboration with the Court Sports Committee.
  • Provide a welcoming, inclusive, and high-quality experience for all members and guests.
  • Build strong relationships with members through visibility, approach-ability, and responsiveness.
  • Communicate effectively with members about upcoming events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Address member feedback thoughtfully and professionally.
  • Provide private and group instruction in tennis and pickle-ball that aligns with industry best practices and enhances player development.
  • Oversee daily operations of all court facilities, ensuring courts are maintained in excellent condition.
  • Manage court sports pro-shop operations, including merchandise selection, sales, and inventory control.
  • Prepare and manage annual departmental operating and capital departmental budgets, including revenue forecasting and expense control.
  • Track participation data and prepare reports for senior leadership as requested.
  • Monitor trends in tennis, pickle-ball, and other racquet sports to ensure the club remains innovative and competitive.
  • Collaborate with club leadership and committees on long-term planning for facilities, programs, and staffing.
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Educational and Certification Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Physical Education, Sports & Recreation Management or other related fields is preferred
  • RSPA and/or PTR Certified, Master or Elite Professional
  • Membership in, or certification from, the National Association of Club Athletic Directors and/or Club Management Association of America (desirable)
