The City of Goodyear is looking for Youth Sports Recreation Leaders and Youth Sports Site Supervisors. These positions involve supporting sports sites through setup, supervising games, providing customer service, administering basic first aid, and assisting with teardown. Supervisors oversee practices and games, assign staff roles, enforce rules, complete reports, and assist with setup and teardown. Both roles may also referee soccer, volleyball, and basketball games. Work hours are typically weekday evenings from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM and Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

Qualified applicants will be invited for an interview, which may include a panel interview and a written assessment. Communication regarding application status will be sent via email; please monitor your spam/junk folder.

  • Assist with recreation programs, events, and leagues by distributing materials, setting up/taking down events, officiating games, administering first aid, communicating with the public, and managing supplies and equipment.
  • Experience in youth sports, officiating, or coaching is preferred. A valid Driver's License is also preferred.
  • Supervise and implement activities with minimal supervision. Manage personnel to meet program needs.
  • Communicate with the Recreation Coordinator or Programmer regarding incidents and issues. Complete necessary reports.
  • Manage supplies and equipment for programs.
  • Maintain recreational facilities and equipment for safety and cleanliness, reporting issues as needed.
  • Enforce policies, respond to complaints, and assist the public.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Stay informed about new developments in recreation and suggest improvements.
  • Attend meetings and assist with other programs as needed. Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
