JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for setting up and tearing down all event equipment and/or spaces.
- Ensure all events start and end on time, as scheduled.
- Ensure the safety and security of the facility for all participants.
- Maintain facility cleanliness at all times.
- Assist in traffic and crowd control during events.
- Report any facility or equipment irregularities, unsafe conditions, or feedback to supervisor in writing.
- Follow and enforce all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
- Report all incidents/accidents on the appropriate form as required and submit to supervisor within 24 hours of the event.
- Attend all required training sessions and scheduled meetings.
- Maintain punctuality and follow established procedures for absences.
- Support the Strong Community Campaign fundraising efforts.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
EFFECT ON END RESULT: Providing a quality support system for YMCA Sports and fostering a positive environment for all program participants and observers.
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum age of 18
- Relevant knowledge of rules for sports associated with youth programs
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Ability to frequently perform physical activities such as bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching with hands, sitting, standing for extended periods, walking, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and communicating verbally with adequate hearing.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors, exposed to weather conditions.
- Ability to remain alert and maintain concentration for long periods to ensure quality scorekeeping.
- Ability to make independent, sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to show initiative without supervision.
- Ability to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner.
- Ability to handle questions/concerns and resolve conflicts courteously and professionally.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
Job Requirements:
- Commitment to the YMCA mission, vision, and values.
- Attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire.
- Complete CPR/AED, First Aid, and O2 training in accordance with Conditions of Employment.
- Understand and abide by all policies and procedures set forth by the association.
- Work a schedule that reflects the needs of the branch.
