Sr. Strategic Sports and Entertainment Partnerships Manager, AWS Sports Marketing

We are seeking an experienced sports marketing professional to join the Global Sports Marketing team at AWS. As a Sr. Manager, Sports Marketing, you will act as a strategic part of the activation team for marquee global sports Leagues within the AWS Sports Marketing portfolio. You will support League relationships, build the go-to-market strategy and drive delivery of 360-degree integrated marketing plans. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams around the world to drive brand awareness, lead generation, and customer engagement. This role offers an opportunity to merge the power of AWS solutions with the dynamic world of sports, shaping innovative marketing campaigns that resonate with audiences globally. These League partnerships are leveraged across the AWS business and require day-to-day interaction with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Your work will be highly visible and impactful, contributing to AWS Marketing priorities.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Support/drive the go-to-market plan and lead 360-degree marketing plans for assigned global Leagues within the AWS Sports Marketing portfolio. Establish goals and drive alignment on global and regional integrated marketing strategies aligned with AWS objectives.
  • Partnership Management: Manage contracts and contractual assets. Cultivate League relationships, influence co-marketing initiatives, and identify incremental marketing activation opportunities.
  • Agency Management: Collaborate with retained agency in day-to-day management of benefits and activation execution.
  • Campaign Management: Enable end-to-end execution of marketing campaigns leveraging partnership benefits, including concept development, content creation, channel selection, budget management, and performance tracking. Deliver compelling concepts to AWS stakeholders and Partnership teams.
  • Event Activation: Oversee strategy and execution of marquee AWS-sponsored events, ensuring seamless integration of marketing activities to maximize brand exposure and attendee engagement.
  • Analytics and Optimization: Monitor campaign performance metrics, conduct data analysis, and derive actionable insights to optimize strategies. Prioritize benefit utilization to maximize business output while measuring ROI and making tradeoffs as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product marketing, sales, professional services and Public Relations to align messaging and ensure consistent brand representation across touchpoints.
  • Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to guide partnership marketing strategy.

About The Team

The Strategic Partnerships team manages AWS's portfolio of Sports and Entertainment Partners, including the NFL, Formula One and Live Nation. The team handles global portfolio strategy, portfolio management, contract negotiations, integrated marketing planning and GTM execution and measurement.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
  • 4+ years of developing and managing acquisition marketing or channel programs experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
  • Experience developing and executing campaigns across multiple timezones and languages

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners
  • Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with a global footprint
