Youth Sports Official Lacrosse – South Suburban Park and Recreation District

Application Closing Deadline: Ongoing/Open. This is an ongoing recruitment process with rolling reviews. Compensation: $40 per game for Lacrosse.

Responsibilities

• Referee events for all levels of competition and provide a fun and safe environment for individuals of all ages.
• Maintain a positive attitude and provide a fun, friendly environment on game day.
• Handle participants, team managers and/or coaches appropriately, even in difficult game situations.
• Make proper calls on command and be prepared to accept criticism as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age. Fifteen (15) years of age for youth volleyball.
• One (1) year of previous referee/umpiring, playing or coaching experience is preferred.
• Understands how the game is played including the principles, practice, and techniques used in recreational sporting events.
• Capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with fellow employees, various community organizations, and the public.
