Position Summary
YMCA Mill Creek Youth Sports Volleyball Lead Position. Mill Creek Youth Sports is seeking an experienced volleyball lead and coach to continue to develop and expand our youth volleyball program, including their new competitive YVL (Youth Volleyball League). This is a part-time position requiring approximately 10-20 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coach volleyball teams, including the new competitive YVL teams
- Run volleyball clinics for children of all ages
- Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer coaches
- Develop new program opportunities to grow the sport
- Handle marketing and community outreach efforts
- Train and mentor referees while also officiating games
- Oversee and manage game sites and operations
- Supervise the children, program, and all activities
- Maintain communication with parents, and engage parents as volunteers
- Maintain program site and equipment
- Maintain required program records
- Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Strong background and extensive experience in volleyball
- Proven coaching experience, particularly with youth programs
- Passion for working with children across all age groups
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
- Availability for Saturday games and weeknight activities
- Skills in program development, marketing, and community engagement
The position offers flexibility to support other YMCA sports programs while focusing primarily on building a thriving volleyball program, from recreational levels through competitive play, for the community's youth.
Qualifications
- Minimum age 18
- Fluency in second language desired
