Sr. Accounting Specialist - RCX Sports Foundation

RCX Sports Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation committed to providing children in local communities with access to sports. We believe in the power of sport to build character, foster teamwork, and instill discipline, all while providing a sense of community. Our mission is to make sports accessible to all children by providing programming to positively impact youth sports, subsidizing fees for kids to play and providing financial assistance to league operators to ensure they can offer these opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, including bill payment, invoicing, collections, employee reimbursements, credit card reconciliation and vendor compliance.
- Enter and review payment requests in Bill.com, ensuring proper documentation, vendor setup, and adherence to organizational guidelines.
- Prepare and analyze financial grant reports as requested by grant staff.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including program managers, foundation leadership and grant staff to prepare and send accurate invoices and support financial initiatives.
- Oversee the General Ledger, including posting deposits, debits, and non-Bill.com transactions, review activity monthly in collaboration with the Non-Profit Finance Director.
- Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations and initiate/manage the month-end close process.
- Assist the Nonprofit Finance Director in developing and maintaining budget forecasts for all sub-departments and developing financial reports.
- Establish, document, and implement billing policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Support the Nonprofit Finance Director in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as donor requirements, to maintain the foundation\'s fundraising status in all 50 states.
- Administer and maintain vendor information in financial systems, ensuring compliance with IRS and organizational requirements.
- Lead the year-end 1099 process, including vendor setup and preparation of IRS submissions.
- Support the annual nonprofit audit through timely preparation of reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive non-profit accounting experience; nonprofit or grant accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices.
- Proficiency with accounting and financial systems (experience with Sage Intacct, TAC, and Bill.com strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
- Travel: Less than 10%
- Work Schedule: Full-Time Monday – Friday (40 hours/week OT-Exempt)
- Compensation Structure: The salary range for this role is $82,000 - $87,000/year. This is a salaried, full-time role not eligible for overtime (FLSA-Exempt)
- Location: Hybrid, Roswell, GA - This position will regularly work at least 2 days per week on-site at the RCX Sports office in Roswell, GA and may occasionally work from home.
