About the Job
This position assists dentists in all phases of patient care, working with students, families, and the university community to maintain oral health.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations, treatments, and patient care.
- Prepare patients and set up necessary instruments and supplies.
- Provide prophylactic care, examine and clean teeth, treat gums, and advise patients on oral hygiene.
- Perform preliminary oral examinations, sterilize instruments, requisition supplies, and take digital radiographs.
- Make dental impressions, establish maintenance schedules, and assist with dental recalls.
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as per approved treatment plans.
- Review patient histories, document referrals, and promote a safe and respectful environment.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Minnesota licensure and successful completion of anesthesia and analgesia courses.
- Current CPR certification and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Pay and Benefits
The hourly pay ranges from $38.37 to $43.39, with a 75%-100% appointment, working Monday to Friday, 7:45 am to 4:15 pm. Benefits include health plans, retirement, professional development, and more.
