Overview

Night Shift Fabricator Lead – New Orleans, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a highly skilled Night Shift Fabricator Lead to oversee and guide our night shift fabrication crew. Hours are 2:30 - 11pm.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the night shift fabrication crew.
• Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and report progress to management.
• Keep projects on schedule while ensuring strict adherence to AISC quality standards.
• Enforce safety protocols and promote a positive, accountable shop culture.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between management and the crew.
• Troubleshoot issues as they arise and keep production moving efficiently.
• Maintain knowledge of production levels and implement strategies to sustain or improve output.

Requirements/Skills

• Structural steel fabrication experience.
• Previous leadership or foreman experience.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and effectively communicate instructions to the team.
• Strong working knowledge of welding, fitting, and shop processes.
• Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address challenges on the floor.
• Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities while maintaining production flow.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the majority of the shift.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly; occasional heavier lifting with assistance.
• Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to noise, heat, dust, and moving equipment.
• Ability to safely operate fabrication tools, welding equipment, and material-handling machinery.
