Responsibilities

• Supervise hourly employees engaged in all phases of the manufacture of blow molded containers, with responsibility for safety, quality, customer service, housekeeping, training, performance management, plant productivity, labor utilization, warehousing, and control of raw materials.
• Enforce all established safety, health, quality GMP and company policies and procedures.
• Exercise authority on the shift to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, or discipline following established policies and practices.
• Oversee shift functions including personnel training, development, safety, security, quality, inventory, housekeeping, and general adherence to company policies.
• Resolve production and quality issues on the shift and conduct regular quality checks.
• Provide shift documentation on decisions, issues, actions, and status updates for compliance and CQI.
• Attend and lead production and safety meetings as required.
• Review and approve time records for shift employees and manage temporary staffing to meet production and labor objectives.
• Manage machine utilization to meet efficiency goals and coordinate necessary personnel, maintenance, or engineering changes to achieve them.
• Develop new methods to optimize manufacturing efficiencies, maximize labor utilization, and reduce operating costs as part of CQI.
• Assist senior leadership in reviewing shift operations and propose changes in operations, staffing, equipment, and procedures.
• Assist with physical inventories in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain a supportive, productive work atmosphere and effective communication with internal and external customers, including vendors and other supervisors.
• Participate in job safety training and follow plant rules to maintain a safe work environment.
• Execute leader standard work daily.
• 0-25% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or related operations experience, or equivalent combination of education and related operations experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an operations supervisory or management role in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated leadership skills (strongly preferred).

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: Hazleton, PA $72,500.00-$94,200.00. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance. 401K enrollment and Employee Wellness Program.
