Job Title: Production Lead Night Shift

Night Shift: Monday-Friday 10:00pm-6:30am
Overview
The Production Team Lead leads our team for success across our department of Canning. Duties include relaying information between the team and Supervisor, guiding the team through daily work activities or projects and monitoring employee performance to ensure maximum productivity. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader who will be able to successfully coach and train employees, while staying focused on results.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervises production team members in a retail packaging environment.
- Plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
- Ensures effective employee relations by providing employee coaching and development and participating in making employment decisions.
- Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
- Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls, maintaining QC paperwork, and providing regular progress reports to supervisor.
- Step in and perform the responsibilities of the supervisor during their absence and maintain the expectations of a supervisor during that time.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned or needed.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Comply with Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHS&S) policies and applicable regulatory and company EHS&S rules and requirements.
- Report to supervision conditions or practices that are unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
- Attend scheduled EHS&S training program.
- Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EHS&S goals and plans.
- Recommend improved EHS&S practices.
- Practice safe work habits and follow general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and PPE.
- Adheres to and ensures lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained.
PRODUCT SAFETY AND QUALITY
- Place high priority on food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing Thrive Freeze Dry’s food safety, quality, and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Hold self and others accountable to Thrive Freeze Dry food safety, quality, & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety or quality incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
- Adheres to and ensures Product Safety and Quality standards are followed.
- Adheres to and ensures GMPs regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
- Adheres to and ensures Thrive Freeze Dry’s food safety, product defense standards, and quality objectives, complies with all SQF system requirements.
- A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
- An ability to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve results.
- An ability to balance and achieve positive results in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.
- The possession of quality orientation and attention to detail, problem analysis and resolution. In addition to, strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds by yourself and assist in lifting up to 150 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions. The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a food manufacturing production environment.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity.
- Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees.
