Overview

Niagara Bottling is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Night Shift. The role focuses on ensuring equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting and repair of production equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, drawings, and testing equipment.
  • Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other equipment at the facility.
  • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment in accordance with Niagara’s defined processes.
  • Maintain industrial control systems.
  • Work independently and with team members to complete repairs in a safe and timely manner.
  • May fill in for production operator as needed.
  • Create and report repairs throughout shift and complete required work order paperwork, documenting parts and material usage.
  • Understand and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment where required.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance as an essential function of the job to ensure equipment and facility uptime.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4 years – Experience in a field or similar maintenance environment
  • 4 years – Experience in a maintenance position
  • 4 years – Experience managing people/projects
  • Experience may include a combination of work experience and education.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Skilled in using shop equipment (hydraulic/mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill, lathe, and assorted power tools).
  • Proficient in precision measuring equipment (calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, depth gauges).
  • Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within a specific area of the plant or machine center.
  • Must have own toolbox and basic tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 years – Experience in field or similar manufacturing environment
  • 6 years – Experience in position
  • 6 years – Experience managing people/projects
  • Experience in high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries
  • Experience with technologies such as VFDs, servo drives, rotary equipment, thermodynamics/heat transfer, and major equipment brands (Krones, Sidel, Husky)
  • HVAC including chillers and/or air compressors
  • Experience reading electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics for troubleshooting
  • Fabrication skills (cutting and welding: MIG, TIG, or stick)
  • Electrical experience with 480VAC and 24VDC power
  • Ability to read and interpret process and instrumentation diagrams
  • Experience repairing variable frequency drives, servo motors/controllers, communication systems, PLC I/O cards, and safety modules

Education

  • Minimum: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Associate’s Degree in manufacturing, manufacturing technology, mechatronics, industrial manufacturing, manufacturing automation, or similar
