Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician, Level 3 (Hourly)

Location: La Porte, IN

Direct Hire

Night shift position (9 PM to 9AM) and receive a $1.00 shift differential to work nights (included in range below). Will receive a 3% increase in May 2026.

Reports into the Maintenance Supervisor

Job Purpose

The primary responsibility is to ensure and improve proper operation of machines from a technical point of view (mechanical, electrical, and electronic). This includes troubleshooting and repairing PLC controls, AC\DC drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and mechanical operations. General building and grounds maintenance are included in the scope of this position as well.

Tasks / Essential Duties

1. Ensure and improve proper operation of machines.

2. Troubleshoot and repair Industrial control systems.

3. General machine repairs (mechanical)

4. General building repairs. (electrical, plumbing, structure)

5. Schematic / blueprint reading capabilities.

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Qualifications Required

1. 2 years technical schooling and 5 years relevant industrial maintenance experience or 8 years relevant industrial maintenance experience

2. 3 years industrial automation and controls experience and able to demonstrate relevant skills.

3. Use of precision measuring instruments required

4. Successful result of an electro-mechanical aptitude test.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Background in PLC operation and Troubleshooting

2. Background in motor drives (both DC and AC) and controls

3. Capable of general machine repairs (mechanical). Must have basic tools.

4. Capable of general building repairs. (electrical, plumbing, structure,…)

5. Schematic and logic print reading capabilities.

6. Must be computer literate

7. Capable of attending school

8. Capable of working overtime on short notice, including call-ins for emergencies

9. High safety and cleanliness standards

10. Good communication skills within the department as well as with other departments

11. Dependability on a daily basis

12. Positive attitude, flexibility, responsible

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to walk, stand, push, pull, reach overhead, bend, and kneel.

2. Ability to work a 12-hour shift
