Overview
Production Supervisor
Reports to Production Manager. Coordinates with managers, quality assurance, maintenance techs and maintenance leads to meet the daily production target in the most efficient way. Follows and enforces all company policies, including GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) and safety policies.
Summary of essential job functions
- Monitor all production of products from mixing to packing. Ensure that all scheduled products are being run and ensure proper ingredients, oven speeds, oven temperatures, packing materials, and date codes are correct.
- Instruct and delegate proper personnel placement and equipment setup at the start of shift and maintain throughout the shift.
- Communicate all production-related issues to management, quality assurance, and maintenance, and work with all departments to resolve issues.
- Constantly inspect all production lines to ensure product meets specifications.
- Complete all necessary company paperwork and ensure all production-related paperwork is completed and submitted to the appropriate department(s) in a timely manner.
- Reprimand employees as necessary with final approval from management and HR.
- Maintain a clean and orderly production floor and work area. Assist with housekeeping.
- Train and enforce all production procedures.
- Work and assist with sanitation cleaning as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Ability to communicate in English – written and oral.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish/English is preferred.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to supervise and train people.
- Prior production experience required.
- Basic computer skills are a must. MS Word and Excel proficiency.
Abilities required
- To lift or move objects up to 80 pounds including bags of ingredients, parts, tools, boxes of finished product, etc.
- To move through different work areas including climbing on ramps or step stools, walking in product freezer.
- To visually inspect products and identify defects.
- To work with hoses for hot water, regular or high-pressure water, cleaning chemicals, brushes and squeegees for cleaning purposes.
- To work with tools including pipe wrench, pliers, weighing equipment, calculator, stop-watch, radio, tape machine, and date coder.
- To fill out production and attendance records.
- To drive a forklift and a pallet jack in a safe manner.
- To work in a hot environment.
- To read and understand the manufacturing guidelines of different products.
