Overview

Ingleside Communities is currently seeking to hire a full-time Housekeeping Aide to join our team. A Housekeeping Aide ensures that Ingleside Communities is clean, safe, and comfortable for the residents. The primary purpose is to perform proper housekeeping to the facility in accordance with state, federal and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. This role includes but is not limited to cleaning resident rooms, cleaning carpets, and stocking rooms. Ingleside is an 80-bed not-for-profit nursing and rehabilitation facility.

Essential functions

  • Knowledge of housekeeping tasks is preferred.
  • Must be able to physically waist lift a maximum of 30#, with frequent waist lifting and/or overhead lifting of 20#.
  • Must be able to push and/or pull with a maximum effort of 20#.
  • Must be able to stand or walk 6-8 hours in an 8 hour day.
  • Must be able to frequently bend, squat, and twist during an 8 hour day.
  • Must be able to attend mandatory in-services and housekeeping department meetings.
  • Must be willing to work weekends.

Responsibilities

  • To keep the facility free from dust, dirt, odors and clutter
  • To vacuum carpeted areas daily
  • To sweep and wet mop floors daily; Buff Floors 1 hour daily
  • To wet wipe vinyl chairs, over bed tables, bedside stands and window sills daily
  • To dust furniture daily with polish
  • To empty wastebaskets daily and replace plastic can liners
  • To clean bathrooms daily including toilets, sinks and mirrors
  • To replenish paper dispenser and soap dispensers when needed
  • To clean windows as scheduled
  • To water plants in the facility
  • To sweep outdoor entry ways daily
  • To inform supervisor of any needed supplies
  • To change mop heads frequently during the day
  • To change water in buckets frequently during the day
  • To note needed repairs and report to supervisor
  • To keep housekeeping room neat and clean
  • To wash walls when needed
  • To sanitize equipment according to the schedule
  • Any and all other duties assigned by supervisor or Administrator in an effort to have a quality housekeeping department
