Job Title: Housekeeping Coordinator

Employment: Full-Time

Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Schedule: MONDAY - FRIDAY (occasional OT and weekends)

Salary: $19/HOUR

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the housekeeping staff, including scheduling and delegating cleaning of resident apartments, common areas, and related duties.
  • Ensure the housekeeping staff completes duties including: cleaning occupied and vacant apartments, administrative offices, and common areas (excluding the dining room or kitchen), hallways and handrails, restrooms and water fountains, laundry rooms, gathering laundry and changing bedding, picking up trash, cleaning model and/or guest apartments, elevators and stairwells.
  • Work with the Environmental Services Director/Executive Director to set monthly goals for cleaning beyond routine duties.
  • Oversee the laundry for both residents and the food and beverage department.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Leasing/Marketing to schedule cleaning of make-ready apartments.
  • Train and retain a full housekeeping staff capable of providing excellent service to residents; provide training to ensure safe emergency procedures and work practices.
  • Conduct a quality assurance check of apartments one time a year.

Responsibilities – Supplies

  • Order all housekeeping supplies within budget guidelines.
  • Ensure chemicals and supplies are stored safely.
  • Train all staff on the safe use of chemicals and supplies.

Responsibilities – Resident Assistance

  • Ensure door flippers are checked daily by 10:00 am.
  • Clean all resident flat laundry and personal laundry (if requested).
  • Meet with all new residents to outline cleaning policies and schedules; share the personal laundry policy.
  • Be available to residents with concerns, complaints, or special requests; report unusual resident behavior to the Executive Director.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • 2 years previous housekeeping and leadership experience required.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Knowledge of personnel development.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques.
  • Ability to take direction and work with others.
  • Treats all information regarding the community, business or residents as confidential.
  • Strong desire to improve the lives of seniors.
