Overview

Housekeeping Supervisor at Sonesta International Hotels. Works with the Housekeeping Manager to supervise housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring product quality standards and optimum service for hotel guests, and delivering clean rooms that meet brand standards.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest and client interactions, upholding Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards and fostering a culture of customer service among hotel staff.
  • Partner with the Housekeeping Manager to recruit, develop, and monitor performance, and provide recommendations for disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Inspect all assigned suites and public areas to ensure furnishings, guest suites, equipment, linens, and public areas are clean and in good repair; advise employees of deficiencies and instruct on corrective actions; provide retraining as needed.
  • Assist with training of employees and ensure they have the tools and equipment needed to perform their duties.
  • Assist with scheduling and room cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage; may perform housekeeping duties to ensure guest satisfaction and owner expectations.
  • Inventory and maintain par levels for linen and room supplies; monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure sufficiency and proper operation.
  • Manage procedures for lost and found items; promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other shifts and the department.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety laws; perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus two years of housekeeping experience, including supervisory training/experience.
  • Previous background in the extended stay industry preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
  • Reading and writing abilities required to document tasks, order supplies, receive instructions, and read equipment manuals including safety information.
  • Mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
  • Problem solving, reasoning, organizational and training abilities; experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Frequently standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility; ability to use commercial cleaning chemicals; lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
