The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for administering and coordinating housekeeping functions in assigned sections. They inspect Guest Rooms to ensure cleanliness standards are met, assist Room Attendants as needed, provide necessary training, and assume all Housekeeping Manager functions in their absence.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • College coursework in a related field is helpful.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Approach all guest and associate encounters in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance as per Aimbridge Hospitality standards, with scheduling that varies according to hotel needs.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
  • Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Inspect staff's work performance daily to ensure standards and productivity are maintained.
  • In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant, inspect VIP rooms and report their status to the Front Office.
  • Oversee the organized closing of floors, ensuring Room Attendants' carts are clean and stocked with linen.
  • Ensure timely completion and signing off of daily assignment records.
  • Supervise Laundry and Housekeeping staff, holding them accountable for performance.
  • Report poor work performance, misconduct, absenteeism, lateness, or improper attire appropriately.
  • Handle 'Lost and Found' items according to standards.
  • Familiarize with all Aimbridge Hospitality policies and House Rules.
  • Ensure staff are attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous at all times.
  • Maintain staff appearance, cleanliness, and orderliness.
  • Carry an active pager/radio for communication with Front Office and Engineering during shifts.
  • Assign daily duties to Room Attendants and House Attendants.
  • Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings.
  • Report progress on out-of-order rooms to the Guest Services Manager daily.
  • Initiate and follow up on repair and maintenance work orders.
  • Oversee proper and constructive training of Room Attendants.
  • Motivate, coach, and counsel staff as needed.
  • Collect keys and assignment sheets at shift end.
  • Attend management meetings as required.
  • Ensure biannual completion of maintenance and cleaning projects.
  • Monitor VIP guests and special requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
