Purpose for the Position: The experienced Room Inspector inspects the cleaning of guest rooms to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the cleaning of guest rooms to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
• Work with and train room attendants to ensure daily tasks are completed timely and accurately.
• Inspect housekeeping carts and closets to ensure that they are properly stocked.
• Work with the house person to maintain cleanliness of public areas throughout the hotel.
• Maintain cleanliness of hotel hallways, stairwells and elevators.
• Support room attendants by cleaning and stripping guest rooms as needed.
• Communicate with the Front Office staff about housekeeping delays or issues and adjust room status as needed.
• Fill out work order tickets as needed and ensure unacceptable rooms are not released back to inventory until items are addressed.
• Perform open and closing procedures for the Housekeeping department in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper and/or Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Provide support to the Executive Housekeeper to ensure that guest satisfaction scores meet or exceed brand standards.
• Be willing to clean rooms, do laundry or perform houseman duties in the event of a contingency.
• Assist with linen inventories.
• Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.

• Be available for work during days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands

Lifting up to 30 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and small tools. Walking, standing, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing are required.

Environmental Conditions

Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. A job is considered “inside” if the worker spends approximately 75% or more of the time inside.

Supervisory Responsibility

Trains and supervises full-time, part-time and/or temporary workers.
