Overview

Housekeeping Room Attendant at Fairmont Dallas. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining all corridors, ice machine areas, elevators and service areas on guest room floors, providing linen supplies, and delivering and retrieving items requested by guests and Floor Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, regardless of how busy it is.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Ensure security of assigned keys and radios.
  • Review assignment sheet and update completed assignments; check with Floor Supervisor and Housekeeping office for additional assignments.
  • Organize work duty priorities and complete general removal of trash or debris on floors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of floor closets; remove trash, wipe shelves/counters, sweep and wax floors; transport items to proper storage areas.
  • Remove dirty linen and glassware from carts and closets; transport to laundry chute/back landing and return clean glasses to floor closets.
  • Clean designated areas with proper chemicals, tools and equipment: guest room floor corridors, floor closets, service corridors, elevators, tracks and landings, guest ice machine areas, stairwells.
  • Wipe down surfaces of ice machines, counters/shelves; ensure nothing is stored in stairwells.
  • Transport any Room Service trays/items in guest hallways to service elevator landings.
  • Check under furniture for debris and report damages to Supervisor.
  • Dust and polish all woodwork; remove dust and debris from upholstered furniture and crevices; dust pictures, frames, mirrors, fire extinguisher boxes, exit signs, and air vents.
  • Clean all light fixtures, lamps and light switches; check for proper working condition.
  • Clean guestroom doors and service doors; remove dust, spots and smears from windows, frames and ledges; wash windows as assigned.
  • Remove dust, grease and smears from house/public phones and reposition properly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
  • Previous experience in cleaning public buildings.
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling.
  • Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish.
  • Experience in hospitality industry in similar position.
  • Some English required; fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal, preferred.
  • Ability to count; attention to detail, speed and accuracy; ability to prioritize and organize.
  • Be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgement; follow directions thoroughly; understand guest service needs.
  • Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
