The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at South Point is currently seeking a Director of Housekeeping. Job Type: Full-Time. Pay Range: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year. As Director of Housekeeping, you will lead and oversee housekeeping operations to maintain cleanliness, safety, and hygiene for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Housekeeping Department Management: Direct and manage the housekeeping department to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety throughout the facility.
  • Staff Scheduling & Supervision: Develop work schedules for the housekeeping and laundry staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Inspect staff work regularly to ensure cleanliness expectations are met.
  • Infection Control Procedures: Ensure that staff complies with infection control protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for residents and staff.
  • Employee Orientation & Training: Oversee the orientation process for new employees, explaining departmental procedures and ensuring they understand their roles. Schedule and direct ongoing training and in-service programs for housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Supply & Inventory Management: Supervise the purchasing, storage, and distribution of all housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry supplies. Maintain inventory levels for all facility linen to ensure a continuous and adequate supply for the facility.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed on relevant state and federal regulations regarding housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure the facility is fully compliant with all standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 1-year of experience as a Housekeeping Director within a long-term care (LTC) or sub-acute healthcare setting.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership, organizational, and planning skills.
    • Excellent administrative and managerial abilities.
    • Interpersonal skills to communicate and work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
    • Compassionate, tolerant, and understanding attitude towards the elderly.
    • Knowledge of infection control procedures and state and federal regulations relevant to housekeeping and laundry operations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform tasks that may require standing, walking, and lifting. Must be able to handle the physical demands of managing a housekeeping team in a healthcare environment.
