POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director of Housekeeping or designee, and in coordination with the Director of Property, the Housekeeping Associate manages daily housekeeping operations and performs soft maintenance tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform cleaning tasks such as mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, vacuuming, and disinfecting sinks, toilets, and mirrors.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good repair of Y facilities and grounds, including routine maintenance like light replacement and snow removal.
- Replenish supplies such as soap and paper towels as needed.
- Assist with property needs, including painting, landscaping, and minor repairs.
- Organize housekeeping storage areas.
- Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System, Asset Essentials, for work orders and service requests.
- Uphold Y core values of Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility.
- Report repairs and ensure property security during shifts.
- Set up and take down furniture for meetings and events.
- Attend relevant meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills:
- Ability to collaborate effectively with all management levels.
- Strong organizational skills and technical problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and communicate courteously.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
- Respond appropriately to safety and emergency situations.
- Ability to read and interpret SDS, manuals, and reports.
- Familiarity with computers and mobile devices is preferred.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
- At least one year of cleaning or housekeeping experience.
- Knowledge of industry standards and maintenance tools.
Certifications:
- CPR and First Aid certifications required within three months of hire.
