Job Title: Shift Supervisor (3rd Shift)

Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: Salary range is $80-$95k annually plus OT as required. MMI has traditionally worked +100 hours OT a year. (Night Shift)
Hours: 10pm-7am

Position Summary:
The Shift Supervisor oversees Machine Shop operations during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and production schedules. This role involves leading a team of machinists and operators, coordinating workflow, and maintaining equipment performance to meet production goals. Must be willing and able to operate production machinery as required, including performing simple CNC programming tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily activities of production staff, including machinists and operators.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance for inspections and issue resolution.
• Monitor production processes to maintain quality and meet targets.
• Conduct equipment inspections and coordinate maintenance.
• Train and mentor employees on operational procedures and safety.
• Manage shift schedules, staffing, and time-off requests.
• Address operational issues promptly to reduce downtime.
• Maintain production records and shift change communications.
• Collaborate with other shifts and departments for seamless operations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Minimum 8 years in manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Minimum 5 years in 4-5 axis, high-spec work.
• Experience in Turning and Milling is a plus.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints, including GD&T.
• Strong manufacturing process knowledge and safety awareness.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work off-shift hours (10pm-7am).
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity for operating machinery and inspecting products.
• Exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations in a manufacturing environment.
