Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced 3rd Shift Chemist to join our aerospace plating team. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of chemical processes used in surface finishing and plating operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing chemical analyses, monitoring plating bath chemistry, and ensuring compliance with aerospace industry standards and internal quality protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine chemical analyses of plating baths, rinse waters, and other process solutions.
- Monitor and adjust chemical concentrations to maintain optimal plating conditions.
- Prepare reagents, standards, and solutions for laboratory use.
- Maintain accurate records of test results, corrective actions, and chemical usage.
- Support production by troubleshooting chemical-related issues in real-time.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Assist in the development and validation of new analytical methods.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to production and quality teams.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in a chemical laboratory, preferably in metal finishing or aerospace plating.
- Familiarity with wet chemistry techniques such as titration, pH measurement, and spectrophotometry.
- Understanding of aerospace plating processes (e.g., anodizing, chromate conversion, nickel plating) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently on a night shift with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
