We are seeking an Industrial Millwright Maintenance Technician to work in our Cudahy facility. Industrial Millwright Maintenance Technicians are part of an integral team of quality and technical professionals who take great pride in helping ATI achieve production and quality goals and objectives.

Our Millwrights are part of a highly skilled team that is critical in supporting production and ensuring equipment is operational to meet production goals and customer needs. Millwrights inspect, troubleshoot, repair, replace, install, adjust, and maintain all mechanical equipment in the plant. They perform scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshoot machine malfunctions, determine problems, and implement repairs. This position requires an understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission, and steam systems.

To succeed, you must be able to quickly learn ATI, our products, processes, and quality standards. This is a 3rd shift position (11pm-7am); however, the new hire will train on 1st shift for 6 months.

Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect mill equipment, chains, belt conveyors, gearboxes/drive chains, and cranes for maintenance or repair.
  2. Use tools such as forklifts, barrel lifts, aerial lifts, boom trucks, drill presses, welding and cutting equipment, portable drills and grinders, measuring devices, laser pump alignment tools, power tools, and hand tools.
  3. Maintain accurate records of labor hours and preventative maintenance findings on work orders for future planning.
  4. Work in high places and confined spaces.
  5. Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures.
  6. Perform tasks such as removal, installation, alignment, leveling, and coupling of rotating equipment.
  7. Ensure all work complies with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  8. Assist Engineering and contractors with capital project work.
  9. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. 8 years of experience in machine repair, hydraulic repair, iron work, or industrial maintenance/millwright work OR a licensed Journeyman Millwright through a state indentured apprenticeship.

Skills:

  1. Strong mechanical aptitude for complex mechanical assemblies, including precision measurements.
  2. Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  3. Knowledge of welding and industrial equipment operation.
  4. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  5. Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
