Role Objective
Responsible for supervising the shift workers within the Production Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing leadership on the production floor with accountability for all production employees; ensuring production process, safety, health, and environmental compliance; addresses key issues and concerns of employees; interacts with all employees from other departments to ensure quality and on-time deliveries.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensures all employees are working in a safe manner and with strict adherence to plant safety and housekeeping
- Organizes resources to ensure production requirements are met on a daily basis
- Prepares daily production report from all work cells and prioritizes as required
- Tracks, documents, and administers attendance and time tracking, discipline, accident investigations
- Trains new employees and retrains employees as needed
- Monitors work cells to ensure operators are maintaining quality and throughput
- Monitors mechanical failures of equipment and contacts required personnel
- Creates an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking and cohesive team effort
- Coaches and develops team members; helps resolve dysfunctional behavior
- Keeps the team focused and on track
- Leads by setting a good example
- Coordinates the team and is responsible for applying policies and procedures
- Enacts disciplinary action as appropriate
General Responsibilities
- Ensures all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with company policy
- Contributes to team effort to accomplish results as needed
- Shows leadership to the workforce by display of decision making skills, motivational efforts, fairness and consistency so that employees are well aware of their performance and individual importance in the department
- Performs other duties as required by managers to keep pace with changes in scope of work
- Arranges for temporary workers if necessary
- Evaluates the quality of work of team members
- Organizes crew tasks
- Maintains work standards
- Resolves issues between team members
- Has working relationships with Quality, Leadership, HROD, Production Maintenance
Education and Experience
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Minimum five (5) years' supervisory experience in a production environment
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing preferred
- Ability to show use of continuous improvement in previous work experience
- Training in health and safety regulations
- First Aid certification preferred
Supervision/Coordination
Coordinate performance and policies across all teams and personnel within the assigned Department. Coordination with other departments, as needed, to achieve the goals.

Travel between campus locations in Northeast Ohio as needed. Overnight Travel - sporadic - required.

Compensation & Benefits
The expected starting pay for this role is between 57,300.00 - 78,800.00 per year. Within this range, an offer will depend on factors such as level of experience and technical competencies relevant to this specific role, as well as internal equity considerations.
