Job Description Summary

The 3rd Shift Production Supervisor will perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. This position requires an understanding of concepts, methods and procedures and will execute the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line, including Service Shops. The role is Accountable for the quality of own work and follows direct operations supervision, prescribed work instructions and systems checking. It operates within a well-defined operations framework with a step-by-step sequence of standard operational tasks to achieve an end result.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees, typically managing hourly employee populations.
• Resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent.
• Collaborate with people from the business unit; activities include planning, explanations on technical issues, and activity coordination under guidance.
• Communicate with the direct team and supervisor.
• Present to internal teams on metrics, project status and research.
• Ability to work in other operations to cover as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role (manufacturing or similar industry preferred) OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing or leadership.

Eligibility Requirements

• Ability and willingness to work the Off-Shift 3rd Shift (11pm-7am).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position is 100% onsite in Schenectady, NY.

Desired Characteristics

• Engineering or management degree.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified.
• Manufacturing experience relevant to heavy duty equipment.
• Experience running projects in a machine shop environment.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Established project management skills.

Pay Transparency

The base pay range for this position is $74,800 - $85,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 5% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity and a 10% shift differential. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
