Position Summary

The Operations Manager will direct and coordinate activities concerned with all production functions during their respective shift times, while ensuring a safe work environment and compliance with all FSQA regulations. This position will work 3rd shift schedule hours.

Education / Skills / Experience

  • 5-7 years' management experience in USDA food production/manufacturing (required)
  • Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, BRC, and USDA regulations (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in food science, Management, or a closely related field (preferred)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Superior problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities
  • Proven successful track record in organizational and planning abilities
  • Strong analytical and process management skills

Essential Functions

  • Oversee all shift production operations, directing salaried and hourly production leaders to ensure smooth and efficient processes; ensuring teams stay motivated, aligned, and focused on operational goals. Foster strong employee relations through training, counseling, and support team member development and morale.
  • Partner internally and cross-functionally with other leaders to drive continuous improvement initiatives, reduce operational wastes, and assist in building operational standards. Collect and monitor data that allows for quantitative decision-making in support of reducing operational costs and efficiency gains.
  • Take the lead in implementing and maintaining safety and ergonomic programs and practices to create an injury-free workplace. Ensure employees are trained in safety protocols, observe and enforce safety rules and practices, as well as identify and address hazards.
  • Maintain high product quality and safety standards, ensuring all processes align with HACCP and SOP protocols. Address product failures, foreign material issues, and ensure staff are well-versed in CCPs and HACCP plans to meet compliance requirements.
