Paint Prepper - 3rd Shift at Elliott Equipment Company

Location: Omaha, NE. Compensation: $17.00-$20.00 per hour. Shift: 3rd Shift Mon–Thu, 8:00 PM–6:00 AM, includes a 2 hour shift differential.

This entry-level to capable role supports material handling, surface preparation, and related prep activities to ensure quality paint applications.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, handle materials and components used for painting.
• Prepare surfaces of components to be painted and apply prep solvents and cleaners.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and thoroughness in quality of work.
• Plan production with supervision to maximize quality and maintain a safe, clean department.
• Comply with PPE and OSHA guidelines; maintain safe and clean work station; perform booth maintenance.
• Interpret paint supplier specifications for surface preparation.
• Operate equipment required for surface preparation (power washers, sanders, grinders), sand blasting equipment, and material handling equipment (forklifts, hoists, etc.).
• Perform prep equipment cleaning and maintenance; perform other duties as assigned by area supervisor.

Qualifications

• Experience in surface prep and spray application of cleaning products for surface preparation preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of MSDS; ability to explain and demonstrate essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication; good math and measurement skills.
• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and position parts for surface preparation.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally; able to lift from floor to overhead as required.
• Ability to operate sand blasting equipment safely and effectively.
• Education and experience in surface prep and spray application preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently; may need to lift objects from floor to above shoulder level.
• Must be able to move parts, tools, and equipment between areas and levels.
• Ability to stand, walk, and climb as required; extended periods of standing may be necessary.
