Scope of Position:

We seek an experienced QA Technician to prevent wasteful production of poor-quality products and ensure customers receive only the best. Candidates should be agile, willing to shift focus as business needs change, and committed to mastering their roles before progressing within the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with sanitation supervisors on maintaining sanitation protocols, including chemical titration, MSS documentation, pre-op inspections, sample collection (ATP/APC), and USDA pre-op inspections.
  • Inspect retained products to verify compliance with specifications when possible.
  • Review daily documentation for accuracy and compliance, and file appropriately.
  • Assist with end-of-shift tasks for 2nd shift and start-up tasks for 1st shift.
  • Support various audits, including SQF, P12, and customer audits.
  • Ensure GMP requirements are followed across the facility.
  • Monitor smokehouse operations for compliance, including drench titration, temperature readings, and product characteristics.
  • Oversee facility temperature and security concerns.
  • Inspect and approve maintenance work upon completion.
  • Track department inventory.
  • Perform additional projects as time permits.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in temperatures near or below freezing (coolers, freezers).
  • Work in damp, wet, or cold conditions (20-30°F).
  • Lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs.
  • Use sharp knives or cutting tools safely.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and both day and night shifts.
  • Repetitive hand motions, grasping, reaching for products or boxes.
  • Stand for 8-10 hours per day, 6 days a week (7 days as needed during peak seasons).

Working Conditions:

  • Subjected to hot, cold, and wet environments.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Maintain good attendance and safety records.

Schedule:

Typically Monday to Friday, with weekend work as scheduled. During the fall season, Saturday shifts are common.
